Michael Torney has had a long-standing interest in the legal field. In addition to the administrative support he provided as a former law clerk to a criminal defense attorney, he researched cases, drafted final documents, and interviewed clients. Michael Torney also attended trials to assist attorneys and handled administrative duties. Torney studies at Washington University in St. Louis. He made the Dean’s List in 2010 and acts as the Public Service Co-Chair of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, which is a professional organization for law students.
Michael co-sponsored his law school’s 2010 food drive, in his position as the Public Service Co-Chair of the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity. Michael Torney received his Bachelor’s degree in Government in 2009 from Franklin & Marshall College, a liberal arts college based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Michael belonged to the co-ed Poor Richards a cappella group, founded in 1968, and served as an office clerk at the off-campus housing facility Campus Crossings – College Row.
In this position, Torney acted as a liaison for parents and tenants and managed tenants’ records. In his leisure time, Michael Torney contributes to and volunteers for the St. Louis Arc, a nonprofit organization for those with developmental and intellectual disabilities that benefits more than 3,000 adults and children. He also volunteers for his local animal shelter and enjoys snowboarding, scuba diving, and lacrosse.
